WEB TEAM: I would like to delete the info that is no longer relevant and just use the most current version:

Technical Skills Share Group (TSSG) is a volunteer organization created for technical professionals seeking peer-based active learning. We develop mobile, web and data analytics applications and we have a quality assurance and a devops team to support the aforementioned teams. Peer-based active learning is give-and-take - learn new skills, tools and concepts - hone existing ones and - share with other members.

Our purpose is to create an environment to enable members to stay current in the latest software technologies, focus on their interest areas and work with other technical professionals.

We will ONLY use the original TSSG logo in Blue (with some text black) - there are two - the TSSG only and the same with a tagline (added as shared links)

Use Arial family.

this is where the TSSG.TECH boundaries reside

we will copy from "Brainstormer" items that will never become tasks - they will be guidelines for what the website will be; then make the BRAINSTORMER text green font color and italic

NOTE: we should comb our documentation for mission/vision statements already published

NOTE: at least once a month, we should read the onboarding documentation & compare w/ the site

  –  UPDATE: 16apr2018 added a "shared link" to view the PDF for OnBoarding that new users receive.

ABOUT THIS GROUP

The Technical Skill Share group meets every Wednesday from 12:300 PM to 5:00 PM except when the libary is closed for holidays or snow days. Acton Library most Wednesdays, Chelmsford Library on 4th Wednesdays. The goals of the group are to help high tech professionals in job transition share their skills and impart knowledge to others. This helps participants and members to be better prepared for technical interviews.

There are various technology subgroups. Some people participate in multiple subgroup events. Some even successfully changed career paths by participating in a technology and/or role they never had in a paying job before. Current subgroups are the Web Application project, the Data Analytics project, and the Mobile Application project.

Everyone with an interest in software development is invited, including recent college graduates or juniors and have never gone through the SDLC or other product development process.

Some of the technologies covered by the group are: C/C++, Java, PHP, Python, R, computer networking, TCP/IP, MySQL, OOD, UML, DSP, Real Time Operating Systems, cloud computing, Six Sigma, source control, Git, Selenium, etc. as well as Agile processes and tools. Occasional technical presentations are led by members or external speakers, who are experts in their area.

Free and open to all members and participants. An added benefit is the networking between technology professionals.

To Join this group we ask that you attend one of our sessions first so that you can determine if the group is a good fit for you.

What we're about

Technical Skills Share Group, TSSG

Technical Skills Share Group, TSSG, is technical professionals in transition helping each other by sharing the skills they have, and learning new ones.

This is not a class. At TSSG, we learn all aspects of software development by doing. This all volunteer group collaborates on real projects. Current projects include:

An Android application to search for and organize events.
A web application for the business side of managing a professional band.

All of our meetings are free, and we encourage everyone to get involved with one of our ongoing software development projects. Participate with programming, web design, project management, or other aspects of software development.

We welcome new members with all levels of technical skills from beginners to experts. This is the place to share the skills you have, and learn new ones such as agile development, Java, Android, PHP, MySQL, web design and project management.

CAUTION: The 'Brand Identity Guidelines' - desired so strongly - by some of the members at the April 25, 2018 General Meeting require further discussion before execution, it is NOT a TSSG.TECH Website Development project issue.  Brand Identity Guidelines are better stated as Standards within an organization. Understand the ramifications before deciding to go to using Brand Identity documentation; relates to all things organization wide: biz cards, presentations, fonts, logo usage and white space required around the logo, standard size of logo embedded in email signature, banners on Google, Yahoo, Meetup, everywhere the TSSG name is used there must be consistency.  The website is only one place and creating that documentation is outside the scope of the Responsive website design project.  Given that some areas of TSSG are using the same logo but all have different fonts and other elements, we will create some consistency within the layout of this project that may or may not be used in the future for other areas where TSSG resides.  The management team needs to decide if this brand identity requirement is needed.  It's not a technical skill - it's a marketing and design skill so not really in line with what TSSG does. It may be constricting for the teams.

The design guidelines here are for the TSSG.TECH Website Development Project only.

In the future, if a 'Brand Identity Guidelines Project' is formed (with direction from a design professional - UI/UX), the 'about us' sections in linkedin, meetup, our website, yahoo group, google group, etc. should be the same.
